um yeah so I'm done with junior year at creighton? yeah what a great update huh. currently I'm on my couch back home. after reading my old posts, I see this is where I do most of my LJing. I should do a pre-study abroad journal, or just one recapping the semester since I never updated oops. but I'm super lazy guys!

instead I'll talk about what I want to do right now. which is watch the Christmas classic Home Alone. we have it on vhs somewhere, but I don't think we have a vhs player. so I looked up on tv guide the next time it'll be on tv. which is tuesday night on fx. but I think I have to pick up my brother from ohare that night. so I looked up the next time it'll be on. which is all day on christmas on FMC. what is that? fox movie channel. so I tried the channel number on out tv. it worked!

haha did I just write all that.

anyway here's a blurry picture of conagra rink:

electricfool is the worst skater ever haha.

blink-182 was sooo good. the pit got pretty crazy so they had to stop for a while after 3 songs. FOB cut off Grand Theft Autumn in the middle of the song because someone was dying. so many surfers got dropped too. insane. we're lucky we survived circle pits that formed every other song. but I'm so glad we went in, Stephanie. so fun. there was so much movement in the crowd; felt like waves in an ocean. as for the band I wish Tom wasn’t such a douche trying to come up with these stories that didn’t make sense. he pissed off Mark and Travis a couple times. and his guitar was off for most of Josie and Reckless Abandon. I wish Mark talked more cuz he's a genius and can do no wrong in my eyes. Travis of course was amazing. all in all, best show of the year, maybe my favorite ever.

oh yeah, panic had a really good set with their new guys. they were the best at sounding like their recordings.

THE PARKING AND LINE WAS RIDICULOUS. whoever designed the lot for westfair amphitheatre should be ashamed.

    dark mysterious eyes

so I was planning on sleeping in today because it's the one day I have free time in the morning. but someone stupid called me and woke me up to see if I was gonna get breakfast even though they knew I was off in the morning and wanted to sleep gah you suck person.

anyway, instead I will blog. d.c. has been pretty great. the staff is so cohesive. (except for one, but he doesn't really bother me as much as the other cuz I don't have to work with him.) the students are super pleasant. especiallly amy and my group, 'team rocket.' I don't know what I did to make them approve of me, but they do. it's gratifying when they come up, ask questions, ask permission or just kind of like yell my name randomly? I've never had a position of authority just given to me like this.

oh yeah the title of this blog: so amy and I teach Interviewing Skills and one of the activities at the end is when they're paired up and do a 10 min interview with each other. they then write a lead, nut graf and maybe a direct quote for a feature on the other person. one of my favorite lines was by hannah, who was describing this quiet girl julia.

"at first glance, julia s may be seen as a shy, quiet girl with a flower in her hair. but there much to be seen behind her dark, mysterious eyes.

I'm writing this in some common room lounge in Hughes Hall of American University. things are good so far, it's just a ton of stuff. I'm super exhausted. but excited at the same time? my co-workers are from colleges all over the country; it's a nice change of pace.

    more dreams
terrorists kept taking over my dreams last night. I had two of them last night. the first one had Iran sending a nuclear missile to washington d.c. and it made such a big explosion I saw it from my window? I leave for my d.c. internship on wednesday. the second one had me still in high school, cuz I've been seeing everyone from there, and we were on a field trip. but our bus got hijacked and like we had to run and take cover because the terrorists were bombing us or whatever. I think this is because I watched syrianna last night. hmm.

oh stef look what came in the mail today..

oh my God I just had the worst nightmare ever. I literally just woke up from it.

it started out like a movie. this was in urban Chicago and a news story was going on and there were kids fighting in the background. one of the kids was beaten right into the camera shot and the police came. then this girl who was wearing a skirt, drives this truck which fish is loaded into (while complaining about her job) around the corner. when she opens the garage, which is bright light blue and has this disturbing ultra florescent light, she sees another worker disembodied hanging from one of those butcher rope things from the ceiling. she screams terribly and throws up. and somehow there was a monkey right next to her which eats her puke. the police come I think.

she's sitting on the ground, still terrified while the police are investigating. in another part of the warehouse, a worker, who doesn't know what's going on, has to get something from a room. the door closes behind him and the killer comes at him in front of him. the woman gets killed, but I forget how.

people kept getting slashed by this killer dude. it's really intense. at the start it was only fish butchers getting killed because the killer would swoop in while their hands were drenched in all the fish blood so they couldn't fight him off. but then he kills the police and other people too. the way he did it was really violent and graphic. it was like he had claws when he wanted to kill someone and he'd cut everyone's face open. it was kind of a paradox because the fish butchers (I know that's not the right term but that's all I can think of right now) would be cutting the fish heads off, while the assassin would slash open their whole face and head. and body. okay not really a paradox whatever.

after this my memory gets cloudy but somehow I get in the dream. the killer has killed like 40 people and I'm stuck in this packing place with really high shelves. there are a bunch of other people and we're paranoid that we're the next one gonna get slashed. there was a scene where I was in the corner and there were all these different lays chips and a bag of barbeque fell because the ground shook because in the next room someone was getting slashed and screaming.

last part - it all goes dark. we're all trapped inside and the scene switched to an office somehow? the killer keeps picking people off. it's terrifying/exhausting trying to stay alive. someone gets backed into a corner and begs for his life but gets ripped apart anyway. finally, someone who looks like robert pattinson, or whatever his name is, looks through the door and comes in dramatically with a weird expression on his face, trying to be fierce but instead being comical. he walks up to the killer (and I never see the killer's face) and fights off his slashes because he's a warewolf/vampire? I dunno.. anyway, he brings the killer in front of all the terrifyed people and instructs everyone to take revenge.

but I, along with a couple people, just want to get out of that office. so we follow twilight dude outside the door and to the elevator. while we're waiting, this woman who looks exactly like kristin wiig, grows a huge circular blade from her arms (it looks like a gigantic, motorized pizza slicer). she says, "ooh trick ending," in a kristin wiig voice. she absolutely destroys twilight dude's face. I turn to run away but she cuts my back in half. the slicer literally was going through me and then I woke up.

the back of my spine, where I was cut through, definitely felt weird. I literally spent 5 minutes laying in my bed, afraid that was how I was going to die. ok my writing sucks because I forgot a whole bunch of stuff. but it creeped me out. my back still feels odd.

why do I do this to myself?
I was awesome at procrastinating this weekend. I was a procrastination master. A promastinator. but now I'm screwed. 15 page sociology paper due in 13 hours and only done with 7. and why am I writing this? as a break lol.

oh and I have 2 finals tomorrow. grrrrrrrreat. I squandered away my weekend going to a last minute concert, watching the pac-hatton fight with my roommate, and making a mockery twitter with mundane updates just to prove to my twitter obsessed journalism friend how annoying it can be. and now I have more tweets than her haha. and no don't add me stephanie because that twitter is a joke and we already have too much online contact hah.

IT'S SO FREAKING HOT IN THIS HALL! last week in kfick. oh it's been good.

went bowling again this weekend. it was okay. everyone kind of sucks at bowling here. I got 125 both games and more than doubled the nearest person. I was trying to model this on stephanie's post that she's doing right now, but she scrolled down doing this lame quiz thing. we went to sushi BEFORE bowling this time so it was totally different, not really. the sushi was a bit better this time though. we got the hiro crunch, which was like the chicken mcnugget of sushi.

saturday was pretty lame for me. I took like 3 naps and then everyone left for an impromptu party at the house where I cannot breathe at because of the cat. I did see I Love You, Man which was really funny. paul rudd did a great awkward character. if you ever see it, there are definitely quotable moments like "totes mcgotes" and "jobin" which don't make any sense if you haven't seen it.

sunday I woke up at 11 and my roommate still wasn't back yet. then he did come back. then we watched michigan state win. then people show up in my room (wearing the same thing hahaha). then tiger woods won. then jim gaffigan talked about bacon. then a really long and dragged out hall meeting. then dark mass. then got food (my first meal of the day at 11 p.m.) then posting this. and done.

    good weekend start
after an immunizing nap and having a pretty good Friday NCAA bracket, me and this person and this other person went bowling and to a hip sushi place downtown. I actually did really well bowling (162 and 142) and got two turkeys! that was exclamation point worthy. the screen said 'congratulations Nathan for the high score' or something. the sushi was pretty good too. it made us all really tired though which isn't a bad thing. good Friday night.

    journalism overload.
I spent 12 hours in the Creightonian newsroom yesterday/this morning. I'm so glad there's no issue for the next two weeks (mid-terms and spring break). It kind of has been taking over my life lately. then in print design, our project was to design a front page for a fake newspaper. I only spent two hours on that. haha at my priorities. at least for the c-tonian I get paid.

I'm exhausted. we lost our IM bball playoff semifinal last night : ( (I used that as a break from paginating but then had to stay later...) I think I'm gonna take a nap.
